St. Mary's Catholic School On behalf of the entire staff at St. Mary's School, welcome to our school web page. We look forward to an exciting year ahead as we work together with parents to nurture the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of the children who attend our school. The theme for Catholic Education throughout the Prince George Diocese this year is "Catholic Schools - Weaving a Tapestry of Faith." In this theme we realize the importance of catholic education and the commitment by everyone involved in the education of our children. We will remember this theme throughout the year as we do our best to develop the whole person, so that they may become active members of society, living life through Gospel values. During the school year our students are asked to collect their change for children in Third World countries. One hundred percent of this money collected goes to the Holy Childhood Association. The children will also participate in a number of other activities to develop an awareness of the importance of service to others. They will make sandwiches for the soup bus, donate non-perishable food items to needy families, collect sponsors for Cancer research, jump rope for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and support our Foster Child, to mention a few. We will strive for excellence in these areas as well as all parts of the academic curriculum. Coming together for Liturgy is the cornerstone of our school community. Everyone is invited to join us for our school masses throughout the school year. A different grade prepares the Eucharistic Celebration each month. They start at 9:00 a.m. in our Chapel.
